St. Bernard Released Photo Records
A booking photograph is part of an arrest and booking event. It is not a finding of guilt, proof of a conviction, or proof that the person remains jailed. After a St. Bernard Parish release, the photo may still exist in the Sheriff's Office record even when no public roster displays it. Louisiana Code of Criminal Procedure art. 228 requires a booking book and booking information summary open for public inspection. Identity checks matter just as much as custody checks. Compare the full legal name, suffix, booking number, approximate date, charge, and court case before assigning an image to someone. A similar face or common name is not enough. If the agency record corrects the name or photo, preserve the correction date and stop using the earlier mismatch. Sensitive identifiers should not be republished merely because they helped locate the source record.

No single St. Bernard Parish source functions as a complete released-photo archive. Rank the channels by authority and scope. An official request tied to the booking is strongest. An agency page that actually displays the photo can also identify the image, while news, social, and third-party copies need more checks.

The channel also determines the next check. An SBSO record can be matched to the local movement sheet, a DPS&C result belongs with the state locator, and an old news or third-party image must be returned to the court and custody sources for present context.
Request St. Bernard Booking Photos
St. Bernard Criminal Records is the most direct official route when the public web pages show no photo. Address a narrow request to the records custodian at the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office headquarters, 2 Courthouse Square, Chalmette, LA 70043. Criminal Records/Reports can be reached at 504-278-7726. Published administrative hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., excluding holidays.
Identify an existing record rather than asking staff to create a new report. A focused process is:
- Supply the full name, date of birth through a secure method when advised, approximate booking date, and booking number if known.
- Ask for the booking photograph associated with that exact booking as a separate item.
- Also request the existing release sheet, custody movement history, or equivalent record if release or transfer needs proof.
- Request electronic delivery where available and ask for an estimate before chargeable duplication.

The SBSO fee schedule lists $10 per disc for photos, video, and audio, but that amount must be confirmed for the precise booking-photo request. It also lists a $25 letter of incarceration and $1 per page for copies, including electronic copies. None of those entries guarantees a fixed total, a photo's release, or a response time for every request.
Note: Omit sensitive identity data from unsecured email when the agency offers a safer way to confirm the matched booking.
St. Bernard State Photo Sources
Louisiana LAVNS and DPS&C are custody and community-supervision channels, not a promised public prison-photo archive. Use only the fields that appear on the matched live record. DPS&C Victim Services offers eligible registered victims a limited current-photo channel near projected release, but that is not general public photo access and is separate from ordinary LAVNS registration.
SBSO links an offense-limited registry through Sheriff Alerts, and Louisiana maintains registration information for people subject to registration law. A registry image can relate to a person in the community, but it is not a universal list of people released from St. Bernard Parish Prison. It does not supply the exact out date and should not be used to infer parole or probation.
When the person's custody was state, federal, or immigration-related, first confirm that system. A parish transfer to DPS&C, USMS, BOP, or ICE is not community release. The photo source and the release source may be different, so preserve the agency name and date for each fact.
St. Bernard Mugshot Discovery Leads
Commercial aggregators and media archives can preserve a St. Bernard booking image after an official page changes. Louisiana Released Mugshot Removal
Louisiana Code of Criminal Procedure art. 234 sets a narrow rule for a covered publisher that posts booking photos and seeks payment. When a qualifying request includes proof that the person was acquitted or not prosecuted, or that the charge was expunged, vacated, or pardoned, the publisher must remove and destroy the image within seven calendar days. It cannot charge for that removal. The law does not make every booking photograph confidential and does not grant automatic removal merely because someone left jail.
Code of Criminal Procedure art. 972 defines expungement as removing the arrest or conviction record, including photographs and related material, from public access. Expungement does not mean destruction. A public non-result also does not prove that a record was expunged. Use the authoritative court order and respect sealed, expunged, juvenile, and other protected information instead of reconstructing it from an old cache.
R.S. 14:133.7 separately addresses confidential juvenile or expunged information and certain fee-based removal or correction conduct. Current codified law controls. Old summaries of proposed rules can be broader than the law that took effect.
Verify St. Bernard Photo Records
A sound St. Bernard Parish photo record keeps four facts separate. The booking photograph shows the image associated with a booking. The booking summary shows the recorded arrest and charge information. The court record shows the legal disposition. The jail movement record shows whether the person entered the community or transferred to another authority.
For a recent release, the St. Bernard released-last-24-hours workflow begins with the absence of an official feed and uses Corrections, LAVNS, and a date-bounded records request. Apply the same care to the photo. Do not call a current roster a release gallery or describe a missing image as deleted, sealed, or expunged without an official basis.
If records conflict, label the source and timestamp for each event. The booking date, court order time, jail out time, receiving intake time, photo-post date, and web access date can all differ. Keeping those dates distinct prevents a stale mugshot from being mistaken for a current custody record.
A “no responsive record” reply has a narrow meaning. Recheck spelling, suffix, aliases, booking number, and date range, then ask whether a legacy system or another custodian holds the booking. It does not prove the person was never booked or that the image was erased. A photo may survive online after release, but only the responsible jail, court, or receiving agency can confirm the custody event.
